Michael Barrymore: 'I’m back to my best after 20 years of misery'
Michael Barrymore has declared that he is "back to my best after 20 years of misery", following a lifestyle overhaul, as he eyes a comeback to his TV career.
Michael said: “I went through a period where I wasn’t sure if people would point at me. I dealt with it by realising there is always somebody worse off. Michael was married to his wife, Cheryl for 21 years, but in 1995, he came out as gay during an impromptu appearance at the White Swan pub in east London.
But Michael's fall from grace was looming as, six years later in 2001, he invited a number of people back to his house, before disaster struck, and Stuart died after being found unconscious in his swimming pool. In 2014, Michael admitted that he had attempted to take his own life, during an appearance on the Jeremy Kyle show, after spiralling into a battle with depression, alcoholism and drug addiction
