The Light Blues took on the Swiss side in the third round of the two-legged process as they successfully reached the play-off stage and will face a familiar face in the shape of PSV in their bid to return to Europe's top table for the second successive season. The Ibrox men knocked out the Dutch giants last season under Giovanni van Bronckhorst to land the riches of competing with the best around and Beale and his new look side will be out to emulate the heroics of last season.
The first obstacle was Servette and after a 2-1 win at Ibrox in the first leg, the visitors had Jack Butland to thank for a massive save just seven minutes into the game. He made another big stop just before half-time was the scoreline at 1-0 to the hosts after an unstoppable opening goal to the game.
The Swiss club appeared gracious in defeat as they tagged Rangers online in a post and wrote: "Congratulations on qualifying, it was a great duel! Good luck @RangersFC."The Swiss side will play European group stage football after dropping into the Europa League with Rangers also secured of that parachute at absolute minimum. They face PSV this coming midweek at Ibrox before the return eight days later.
