The UK's Competition and Markets Authority has extended its investigation into Microsoft's Activision Blizzard merger...

franchises would be anti-competitive. The US Federal Trade Commission has moved to block the deal, to which Activision Blizzard accused the regulator of being"blinded by complaints from competitors.", the extension has been granted due to the investigation's complexity and"larger volume of evidence, as well as main-party and third-party submissions.

" Although the deadline has been moved, those producing the report expect to"complete the inquiry as soon as possible and in advance of this date.", February will see the CMA notify the parties involved of its provisional findings, and if required, offer possible remedies to its findings. This will be followed by any outstanding hearings in March, after which the party conducting the investigation will publish its final report on whether or not to approve the deal by April 26th.
