Mikel Arteta reveals Arsenal's plan for William Saliba this season AFC
Mikel Arteta has confirmed that William Saliba is a part of his plans at Arsenal this season.Saliba impressed in Arsenal’s win over Everton in the USASince then, the 21-year-old has enjoyed loan spells with Saint-Etienne, Nice and most recently, Marseille where he shone during the 2021/22 campaign with 51 appearances under his belt., speculation was rising around Arsenal’s long-term plans for Saliba with some suggesting that he wouldn’t be handed a chance to shine in the Premier League.
However, Arteta has since spoken out on the starlet’s future and insisted that he’s very much going to be a part of his first team squad this term.“He’s a proper talent who showed what he can do at Marseille. “The way our relationship started was not a typical thing to do but the plan was always to buy him and send him on loan.
“We have been trying to prepare him in the best possible way for what he faces in the Premier League. “We cannot guarantee first-team football to anyone. But I guarantee players who take us to the next level are going to play a lot of minutes.Topics
