Families who have been let down by the NHS need a commissioner who is on their side, says Record View.

We will have to wait until the end of a public inquiry before we know the full truth of the NHS hospitals scandal. The probe will look at problems in the construction of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

The most high-profile case was the tragic death of 10-year-old Milly Main. A probe later found she “probably” passed away after catching a water-linked infection at the QUEH. The proposals came directly from the experience of Milly’s family, who only learned of the infection link through the Record. But the government was opposed and inexplicably voted down the package of changes. Little wonder Milly’s mum Kimberly is angry as she has been thwarted from the start.
