Minecraft's bizarre end credits poem released into public domain, author decides after 'pretty heroic' psychedelic trip

"I wrote the End Poem for Minecraft, the most popular video game of all time," Gough wrote."I never signed a contract giving Mojang the rights to the End Poem, and so Microsoft also don't own it. I do."

"Rather than sue the company or fight with my old friend, who founded the company and has since gone off in the deep end, I am dedicating the poem to the public domain," Gough continued."You'll find it at the bottom of this post, along with a Creative Commons Public Domain dedication. Anyone can now play with it. Have fun.

Now, years later, Gough says he has decided to release the text into the public domain and give up any potential monetary claim after taking a"pretty heroic dose of raw psilocybin mushroom truffles". Gough subsequently decided to"formally liberate the End Poem" from"the corporate economy, where it's been illegally detained since 2014".
