The publisher of The Mirror has apologised ‘unreservedly’ to Prince Harry after admitting a private investigator was used in one instance to unlawfully gather information about his activities.

The publisher of The Mirror has apologised ‘unreservedly’ to the Duke of Sussex over gathering information illegally., are bringing damage claims against Mirror Group Newspapers over alleged illegal information gathering.

But Andrew Green KC, representing the publisher, ‘unreservedly apologises’ to the duke for one instance of unlawful information gathering during the trial on Wednesday.MGN admitted that a private investigator was instructed by a journalist at The People to unlawfully gather information about his activities at the Chinawhite nightclub one night in February 2004.

MGN denies voicemail interception in all four cases and said there was ‘no evidence or no sufficient evidence’. ‘MGN unreservedly apologises for all such instances of unlawful information gathering, and assures the claimants that such conduct will never be repeated.’
