The Met Office says a number of areas could be hit by torrential showers from midday tomorrow
More flooding could be on the way as a thunderstorm warning has been issued across large swathes of the UK.It could mean delayed train services, perilous driving conditions, temporary loss of power and homes and businesses being flooded.
Yellow thunderstorm warnings are in place for most of England, including all of the north and Midlands, parts of east Anglia, and spreading into southern regions. Forecaster Alex Deakin said: ‘This weekend promises some pretty wet conditions. It won’t rain all weekend, but when it is raining, that rain could be heavy.
Mr Deakin added: ‘You could see those temperatures jumping up perhaps into the mid-20s, but that’s the exception rather than the rule.’
