Peppa had been missing for 12 days
A missing dog left stranded on a cliff edge for almost two weeks has finally been reunited with her worried owners. after disappearing near the Llŷn Coastal Path in Gwynedd, north Wales.
She was found clinging to on towering cliffs by a fisherman and two walkers on the coastal path. Abersoch Coastguard Rescue Team said Peppa was in a “tricky” position on the cliff. The coastguard helicopter was called to the scene along with teams from the RNLI Porthdinllaen, Aberdaron Coastguard Rescue and Criccieth Coastguard Rescue, reports North Wales Live.
They carried out an extensive search before embarking on a “long and difficult rescue”. Sharing photos from the incident, Abersoch CRT said: “We were informed that a dog had been missing since 12 August and, unlikely as it seems, Peppa matches the description down to the pink collar.”Friends of the owners agreed to look after Peppa until she could be reunited with her owners. Commenting soon after the rescue, Rebecca Hull said: “We have Peppa here with us.
On social media, Suzanna Clark said her husband was among those who had alerted the emergency services after spotting Peppa. "This photo brought a tear to our eye, knowing she’s safe and well, and family are on their way,” she said. “I can’t imagine how the family feel.” The rescue earned widespread praise but it also left some people with questions. “How did the dog end up there?” pondered one woman. “Lucky you were there and it survived.”
