Modern Warfare 3’s just introduced the newe st feature to the Call of Duty franchise – the ‘Tac-Stance’ and it’s already begun splitting the community.
Following on from a reveal on August 17th, fans of the franchise were exposed to their first official look at MW3’s gameplay. Included in the reveal was the announcement of the ‘Tac-Stance’, a new mechanic that feeds into CoD’s slow metamorphosis into aThe latest feature “balances mobility and accuracy, allowing for evasive maneuvers and aggressive engagements. It’s available on most weapons, including those carried forward from MW2, and can be dynamically toggled anytime during gameplay.
Avid fans of Call of Duty will remember the ‘Lean’ feature which was scrapped in the original Black Ops. Later games allowed you to do this throughThe followingrecords some of the reactions to the feature’s reveal. One commenter stated it’s “honestly not bad”, and that it “looks to be a lean mechanic like in R6”.
Some have commented on the same thread that they “don’t get it” and that it’s just “like a hip fire with laser sight.” Anothercollects some of the reactions to the feature, lamenting the pointless nature of it. “If this is GA’d we might be seeing the best competitive CoD game since BO3”. For those that don’t know, a GA in competitive gaming is ain which a feature is collectively agreed upon to be banned or frowned upon.
Many of the complaints surrounding Modern Warfare 3 circulate around the fact that there’s not enough to distance it from the predecessor. Aside from a new campaign which admittedly seems to be the most innovative thing about the game, the multiplayer seems to have been tacked on with a few bells and whistles. Take them away, and it seems as though it’s the same Call of Duty as before – and fans are understandable upset about it.
