They took part in Scottish Week celebrations
Stunning footage shows the Red Arrows flying over Peterhead as part of the town's Scottish Week celebrations.
The Red Arrows flew over the town and performed their famous aerobatic display, leaving vapour in their wake to the cheers of onlookers. The team left from their base at RAF Waddington this afternoon and an hour later had landed at RAF Lossiemouth.The Scottish Week event in the town runs from Friday, July 14 to Sunday, 23 July. This year's event was Peterhead's 61st Scottish Week.
Other vintage aeroplanes at the RAF display on Friday, July 21, included a the Lancaster, Hurricane and Spitfire. Top news stories today Scottish Week was formed in 1961 and ten towns across the country participated, but over the years the rest fell away and by 1986 Peterhead was the only place still running an event.
