‘They don’t feel empowered enough or protected by the police.' This Black History month we spoke to Sayce Holmes-Lewis, CEO of youth charity Mentivity about the mood towards the police amongst black youths following the murder of Chris Kaba.
Mr Holmes-Lewis said: ‘The mood is defeatist because of the lack of opportunity, employment and provisions for young people.
‘This is the common theme. We are not going to suffer this kind of oppression anymore, we must come together, because we are all that we have got in the community, and community is all that we’ve got.’
