A report by council officers states: “Following a lengthy period of misuse, all four of the bowling greens are no longer suitable for playing bowls. During the COVID pandemic period usage of parks and open spaces significantly increased and the bowling greens were used extensively for picnics, football and other recreational activities which caused widespread damage to the playing surface.”
