Pressure continues to grow
Pressure is growing on Northamptonshire’s police, fire and crime commissioner after a member of a panel that scrutinises his work said his role is “untenable” following a chaotic 10 days. Stephen Mold appointed friend and colleague Nicci Marzec to lead the county’s fire service for an indefinite period on July 7 but Ms Marzec resigned on Monday.

I have fulfilled my commitment to that role up to now but what is happening is absolutely horrendous because there is no accountability. He seems to do whatever he wants to do.”
