MORE than 180 staff have been made redundant after a Barrhead-based construction firm closed its doors.has confirmed that it has fallen into administrationThe local firm was founded in 1991 and is an established supplier of specialist groundwork services to leading housebuilders.
However, they revealed that the building firm had been struggling with a downturn in activity along with a rise in prices of raw materials and delays to the commencement of work, which has caused unstainable financial and cash flow pressures. Administrator Stuart Robb said: “Allma Construction is a long-established and highly regarded supplier of specialist groundworks services to many of the leading housebuilders.
“We will now focus on marketing the assets for sale and on providing every possible support to the staff for claims to the Redundancy Payments Office and accessing support agencies such as PACE.”We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
