'Jacob's headaches have become much worse, stopping him from doing the things he loves like riding his bikes and seeing his friend.'
A little Co Antrim boy, who dreams of one day becoming a motorcycle rider, is facing his greatest challenge yet - a 12-hour long brain operation this week.
Jacob, a P2 pupil at Olderfleet Primary School, has a condition called Chiari Malformation and Craniosynostosis, where part of his brain called the cerebellum is pushed through an opening at the bottom of his skull. Jacob's mum Courtney told Belfast Live: "Jacob is the sweetest little boy as well as the most daring. If there’s something you can climb, that's where you will find Jacob.
"He had started complaining of headaches at the time. Simple activities had him falling asleep at 4 or 5 o'clock and not waking up until the morning as he was that tired." "Since all this, Jacob's headaches have become much worse, stopping him from doing the things he loves like riding his bikes and seeing his friend. His eyesight also gets blurry, which scares him."
