A letter has been sent to parents
A Lancashire school has written a letter to parents confirming there are positive cases of Strep A in its pupils following several fatalities across the UK.
Mrs Hughes wrote: "We have been informed that are positive Invasive Group A streptococcal disease cases within our school. Please rest assured, they are making a recovery, at home, following medical advice. We have sought advice from UK Health Security Agency Northwest Health Protection Team. They have advised that there is no reason for children to be kept at home if well and school activities can continue as normal.
There is no shortage of antibiotics, the Health Secretary has said, as he urged parents to remain vigilant for signs of StrepA.
