An outraged mum admits she 'made a bit of scene' when she was denied buying a bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale by staff at her local Aldi because they thought she was her daughter's 'mate'. Aldi defended the decision, and banned her from returning.
A Lancashire mum admitted she ‘made a bit of a scene’ after she was denied alcohol in Aldi.
The 35-year-old was told she wouldn’t be able to buy her booze, which included Newcastle Brown Ale, as she looked like her kids’ ‘mate’. ‘I even started to get photographs on my phone, it started to make a bit of a scene because people were staring at us trying to look through my phone.’Kelly also defended the purchase of Newcastle Brown Ale, adding: ‘It’s a gentleman’s drink, it’s not something you’d find kids drinking in a park.” she said.
Kelly said: ‘As far as I’m concerned, it’s the same principle, no matter the age of the children. If you’ve got a single mum who looks young like me, what’s she going to do?
