But one mum-to-be took to the Internet to explain why she wouldn’t be allowing her parents to babysit her child. Writing on Reddit, the 28-year-old explained that she hated how she was raised – and wouldn’t want to impose that on her child.
‘I said I didn’t trust them to leave my child alone with them. I didn’t believe they would treat my child better than how they treated me, and I didn’t want my child to ever feel like I felt.’ But she says her words went ‘in one ear, and out the other,’ with her dad saying: ‘that’s all in the past, I don’t understand why it matters now.’ While the poster questioned whether she was being ‘harsh’, commenters were quick to show their support.
