Mum had no clue she was living with 'monster' who killed her daughter - until police knocked on her door
A mum has spoken of her horror after she discovered she was living a "monster" who killed her 22-month-old daughter.
A post-mortem revealed she had sustained a catastrophic brain injury, bruising to the body, rib fractures and damage to nerves in the neck. Detective Chief Inspector Adam Waller, who led the investigation, said the injuries were described by one pathology expert as being "akin to a road traffic collision or multi-storey fall."
"He told me he gave her CPR, but during the trial the prosecution put it to him that he didn't give her CPR, and he responded no, I didn't. That was the first I heard of it. " She said: "Annabelle was the most laid-back baby you'd ever come across. She never cried. She was fun, she had a cheeky laugh, she could make anyone smile. She just loved life. She absolutely loved Frozen 2. She watched it all the time and we played it at her funeral."
