Natalie Quinn’s 10-year-old son Sam and five-year-old daughter Alice both have juvenile Batten disease, an inherited disorder that affects the nervous system and cuts life expectancy to the late teens or early adulthood.Natalie, from Rotherham, said knowing her children will die in the next two decades was like ‘grieving for a child that is still alive’.‘The first signs something wasn’t right, for both Sam and Alice, was trouble with their eyesight.
