A mum who flew 4,000 miles away from home to make her dream of having the most "natural" birth on a beach come true has found herself "stranded" with her now four-month-old baby.
She was 35-weeks pregnant when the couple left their home for Martinique in March. Her waters broke while they were travelling by boat to St Lucia, forcing her to give birth at sea near Rodney Bay. It is understood the new parents sought help from the immigration office in St Lucia, however they claimed they were told they would need proof that the baby was theirs. The family then contacted the passport office in Castries, St Lucia - hoping to secure an emergency passport for their baby.
Clive and Iuliia then went to the UK High Commission in St George for help but claimed they were told a DNA test was required to prove the baby is theirs. The couple are still waiting for the results of a test taken last month - and hope they will then be allowed to leave with a passport for the baby and return to the UK.
