During the first episode of Naked Education, mother Lauren broke down in tears recalling her experience with postnatal depression.
The six-part series aims to help the body positivity movement through frank discussions and educating people on what ‘normal’ bodies actually look like.
During the first episode, two mothers Lauren and Libby sat down and got frank with each other about their pregnancies and childbirth and the difficulties they faced. Lauren broke down in tears as she spoke about how she felt when she had post-natal depression after the birth of her son, describing the period as ‘really horrible.’
Breaking down in tears, she said: ‘I was looking at him, not wanting to feed him, not wanting to cuddle him.The mother said she did ‘not want to touch’ her son ‘I didn’t want to be here anymore,’ she added., mothers should contact their doctor if they feel a bit down, tearful or anxious after more than two weeks after giving birth.
