They want to help reduce poverty and homelessness in Nottingham and beyond
The owners of a new Nottingham venture say they hope to “transform lives”, as they have spoken out about why they’re continuing to help employ homeless people. Half the Story, a local Nottingham social enterprise whose bakery is based at Grace Church in Castle Boulevard, is aiming to help people not only in Nottingham but across the country.
Biscuit enterprise Half the Story, which is less than two months old, is the latest venture for Matt Parfitt and Stuart Cunniffe. The co-owners spoke about the mission behind their organisation Matt said: “Half the Story is going to continue transforming lives by supporting people through employment. A lot of people have asked ‘why don’t you grow your cleaning business?’ but creating different jobs helps different people where we can create a supportive environment and set the culture and tone.
Matt said: “Green Pastures approached us to say people who are homeless need three things: somewhere to live, love and something to do and finding something to do can be hard but we can provide that.”
