'I want to come out of the other end of it'
A new mum has spoken of her determination to get on with living after she was given a devastating cancer diagnosis just a month before her wedding day.
In 2021, Faye had her son and found that she was feeling even more tired. She eventually broke down in tears and told her partner Chris that something wasn't right and she was desperate to get back to her old self. After many hospital visits and treatments, Faye was offered an appointment for a colonoscopy.
Speaking about her own diagnosis, Faye said: "I felt pretty heartbroken. The 'C' word had never entered my mind up until I had looked at the screen. It is not easy to talk about." Faye's friend Becky Carlisle set up a Go Fund Me page which has raised more than £7,000 in just a few days. The Go Fund Me page can be found here. Becky said the Go Fund Me page was set up because Faye's life insurance company had declined to pay out for critical illness due to her incorrectly answering a medical question four years earlier.
