Chancellor Jeremy Hunt confirmed in the Spring Budget that State Pension, disability and most working age benefits will be uprated by 10.1 per cent
Around 19.2 million families and 39.8 million individuals across Scotland, England and Wales currently in receipt of State Pension or benefits from the Department for Work and Pensions and HM Revenue and Customs will see their payments go up by 10.1 per cent this week. However, due to payments made in arrears most people will not see a difference until May, or receive a mixed rate payment.
New payment rates from April 10, 2023 Inflation-linked DWP benefits, Tax Credit elements and benefits administered by HMRC will rise by 10.1 per cent from April 10, 2023. The Basic and New State Pensions will also be uprated by 10.1 per cent, in line with the Triple Lock. Working Tax Credit rates for 2023/24 Working Tax Credit is paid to people who are in work and on a low income – it does not matter whether you are an employee or self-employed, and you do not need to have children to get the payment.
