The weather to round off 2022 is looking likely to be damp, with showers and rain forecast as many start to plan their New Year celebrations.
Sky News weather producer Christopher England said:"The weather looks unsettled, with gales at times, but they will be mainly coastal. There will be further rain at times, some of it heavy in the west."
New Year's Day promises sunny spells in London and Belfast, a little sun in Manchester - along with light showers - and a cloudy day for those in Cardiff. Looking ahead, less damp weather is in store, with the south and east expected to turn drier later next week.The weather is currently rather unsettled, with wind and bouts of heavy rain making it feel chilly everywhere.
