New York City announced that all Department of Education employees must be vaccinated, without a testing option
New York City has announced it will require all public school employees to be vaccinated against the coronavirus. Teachers and staff in the US’s largest school district will not have Covid-19 testing as an alternate option. Department of Education staff will need to have at least one vaccine dose by September 27, the city announced on Monday. Employees will not be able to submit weekly testing in lieu of getting vaccinated.
The new mandate applies to about 148,000 city workers and is a step up of Mayor Bill de Blasio’s effort to push New Yorkers to get inoculated.
