Russia's mobilisation of 300,000 reservists and threats to use nuclear weapons dominate the front pages.

Many front pages focus on Russian President Vladimir Putin's threat to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine. The Financial Times reports he claimed they would use nuclear force if the "territorial integrity" of Russia was threatened and called for a partial mobilisation of 300,000 reservists. The paper says the warning "sparked alarm" in the West, but notes some have described the call-up as a "sign of weakness".

The paper also reports that five British people captured by Russia have been released as part of a prisoner swap negotiated by Saudi Arabia.Under the headline "good news, Vlad news", the Sun reports that among the five were Aiden Aslin and Shaun Pinner, who had been "sentenced to death by a Kremlin-backed kangaroo court" in occupied areas of eastern Ukraine.
