NI parents urged to be aware of 'explicit' TikTok challenge

It involves users uploading ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ nudity.

INEQE Safeguarding Group says it has been made aware of a new challenge circulating on TikTok which may contain inappropriate content.

This is done in various ways, the group has detailed, including exposing themselves to the camera from a distance while being obscured by various objects, or through a reflection in mirror/tv screens. Some users are also taking advantage of the challenge by pretending to expose themselves.The challenge has mainly been attempted by females and started to generate significant traction in February 2023. .

INEQE Safeguarding Group’s Director of Operations, Hannah Paul said: “Unfortunately, this type of challenge on TikTok is not new. Our Online Safety team are made aware of challenges like ‘Foopah’ regularly. We find it deeply concerning that users are posting explicit content and attempting to avoid detection and moderation by TikTok.
