Translink says it carried a third of its pre-pandemic passenger numbers in the past year.
By Colm KelpieNorthern Ireland's public transport system will need an extra £50m in 2021-22 to mitigate the effects of Covid-19, officials have been told.
"These efforts allow Translink to begin the current financial year on a stable financial footing," Ms Mallon told BBC News NI. Minutes of the briefing presented to officials in January, which have just recently been published, noted that "significant funding would be required" for public transport services in the 2020-21 financial year, and potentially beyond, due to the impact of Covid-19.
