Broadcaster Nicky Campbell has hit back at a teacher he accused of battering him “like a rag doll” after he denied the claims.
Nicky said: “I’m angry but not surprised by his cowardice. His denial is ludicrous given my very clear memory of a few minutes of brutality I can never forget. It also flies in the face of accounts given to me by witnesses.” “I was in a state. He had run at me, kicked me, punched me, knocked me to the floor, kicked and punched me some more then dragged me to my feet by my hair. As I said in my evidence, he threw me around like a rag doll.
“It was nothing short of heroic and it was so moving to see how hard she had fought for me. It was really touching. “He was a big, powerful man. I was a boy of 14, small and slight. He had the cheek to tell the inquiry it was just a push and that I was a big guy.
