One viral TikTok says it is, but men buying women drinks doesn’t entitle them to anything
Ah another day, another TikTok proving women should stop dating men entirely. In a viral video posted last week, one man is currently arguing that women who accept drinks off other men while in a relationship are, in fact, ‘cheating’ on their partner. Yes, seriously.
‘Receiving a beverage is not cheating,’ one woman responded to near 12,000 likes. ‘I think what you meant to call out here is the men thinking that a woman accepting a drink equals consent.’ ‘So what I’m hearing is you think if you buy a girl a drink, single or not, then she “owes” you something,’ a third replied. ‘Eeeek, next you will tell me “not all men”.’
‘A free drink is a free drink,’ one TikTok user agreed. ‘You only think it’s cheating because men believe if they buy a woman something they own her.’ Receiving 26,000 likes, it’s refreshing to see that at least some agree despite the original poster's nearly 200,000 likes.
