Organisers say lessons will be learned for any future events at Wythenshawe Park
Hundreds of Noel Gallagher fans were left trapped inside Wythenshawe Park for hours after the show had ended on Saturday night when offiical car parks inside the parkland went into gridlock.
Motorists entered the car park off Altrincham Road, driving down a single track route to different fields to park on. Stewards said cars would exit the show on a route further up along Altrincham Road. One fan stuck in the chaos said: "No one expected to simply fly off the car park after the gig, but the amount of time we were all left stuck without any information from the marshalls was frustrating. Lots of motorists started beeping their horns which was a pretty futile attempt to gain attention amid the chaos and confusion.
The MEN has asked organisers Live Nation for a comment on the car parking issues. A spokesperson said: "Yesterday was a first-of-its-kind event at Wythenshawe Park and overall we are delighted with its success and the feedback received so far.
