Greg Norman confirms Tiger Woods rejected offer worth up to £650million to join LIV Golf
LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman has confirmed Tiger Woods turned down between £570million and £650m to join the breakaway series.Saudi-backed league continues to wreak havoc in the golf world, luring a number of big names away from the established tours with huge sign-on fees.to join and bagged £3.28m for winning the third event at Trump National Bedminster.
In May, Norman told the Washington Post that Woods rejected a ‘mind-blowingly enormous’ offer worth ‘high nine-digits’. “That number was out there before I became CEO. So that number has been out there, yes,” Norman said in a Fox News interview.“So they had originally approached Tiger before I became CEO. So, yes, that number was somewhere in that neighborhood.”
