Police said they are 'not looking for anyone else' in connection with the investigation

A woman who was arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of an 88-year-old man at an assisted living facility in Banbury has been granted bail. The 53-year-old from Northamptonshire was arrested after Thames Valley Police opened a murder investigation into the pensioner's death.

The pensioner’s death in School Lane in Banbury, Oxfordshire, was reported to Thames Valley Police at 7:26pm on Monday night October 19. The woman, from Northamptonshire, was arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday, October 18. The woman was later released on police bail on Friday, October 21. Thames Valley Police said the woman had been bailed until 15 November pending further inquiries.Following the man's death, officers set up a forensic tent outside the building following the death and put a scene watch in place.

After the woman's arrest, Investigating officer Detective Inspector Alice Broad said: “We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this investigation and our inquiries thus far indicate there is no threat to the wider community."
