Struck off

A Lancashire nurse has been struck off, after failing to record a patient's aneurysm and for not giving him much needed medication, a Nursing and Midwifery Council Fitness to Practise Committee report has said.

This refers to the bulge or swelling of the aorta, the main blood vessel that runs from the heart down to the chest, which when spotted too late, can be life-threatening. On the same day, Mrs Jackson also incorrectly recorded that the patient "had a history of renal colic when he did not.

On 19 July, Mrs Jackson failed to give another patient four of their medicines. As well as this, Mrs Jackson did not give eight medicines to another patient and three medicines to a third patient, including one used to treat epilepsy or nerve pain.
