Pensioner arrested after dad killed and little son critically injured in four car smash
A PENSIONER has been arrested after a dad was killed and his toddler son left fighting for life in a four-car horror smash.
Police were scrambled to the A267 in Frant, East Sussex, after the hit-and-run crash unfolded on Wednesday morning.A 36-year-old man, who was driving a blue Ford Fiesta, was declared dead at the scene. His two-year-old son, who was the only passenger in the car, was airlifted to hospital with serious head injuries in a critical condition.A 76-year-old Honda driver failed to stop at the scene and is now being quizzed in custody.
He was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and for failing to stop after a road accident. Police confirmed a section of road cordoned off while specialist officers investigated has re-opened.
