'At school time, the mothers come down with their prams and obviously they have to go on to the road to pass'
Residents of a Blackburn neighbourhood say an overgrown shrub is still causing misery outside their homes almost a year after they first flagged the issue.
In September 2022, LancsLive visited residents at Rosewood Avenue - a densely populated area with a number of cul-de-sacs, streets and neighbourhoods. Most of the area is limited to 20mph, but with little signs and 30mphs in other zones, residents say many motorists approach these roads at a quicker pace.
Another issue Anne highlights are those in wheelchairs, stating she knows one resident who has to avoid the pavement due to the inability to get past and the kerb being too high. "But there are people who come down on mobility scooters - because on this estate we've got more over 60s than under 6s. One lady, she has to get off at the corner of Campbell Street and there isn't a drop-down kerb until going up to Pleck Farm Avenue.Anne has lived in her home for 36 years, which she purchased for her 30th birthday. Back then she says, the shrub wasn't causing an issue, but has naturally overgrown.
