💧 Otters, kingfishers and salmon under threat as UK rivers fall to lowest ever levels in drought 🔴 Experts warn of disaster for wildlife, with just 8% of rivers at ‘normal’ levels and reservoirs emptying out

Some rivers in England are at their lowest levels ever recorded, spelling potential disaster for wildlife, the Environment Agency has revealed.were threatening wildlife that rely on rivers to survive, including otters, kingfishers, trout and salmon.

The level of the Great Ouse at Denver in Norfolk has dropped to just 5 per cent of its long-term average – the lowest July figure for this site since records began in 1970. South east England had just 11 per cent of its average rainfall last month, while the eastern region had just 17 per cent.
