As families around the UK unwind following a busy Christmas schedule, one supermarket chain has already launched a sales drive for the April bank holiday. Morrisons, Tesco, and Co-op have caused a uproar among customers after stocking their shelves with Easter eggs on December 26.

Easter Sunday in 2023 lands on April 9, some 103 days away. However some supermarkets chains wanted to get a head start on their rivals by displaying their chocolate treats on their shelves already. Writing on Twitter, one customer shared a photo of a Terry's chocolate orange and wrote: "Don't worry folks! To make sure you don't miss the next big event, shops have started stocking easter treats and goodies.A second person, with a photo of an shelf full of Easter treats, said: "There you go people, Morrisons selling Easter eggs on boxing day."
