Originally founded by Kirk Pacenti, Pacenti Design helped introduce 27.5″ wheels by offering rims, tires and complete wheels at a time when most bikes running the mid-sized wheels were 26″ mountain bikes being stuffed with the larger diameter hoops and treads. Now owned by Luke Humphreys and Susan Many, the brand wants to see someone else take the P-Dent design and run with it so they can focus on wheels.
The design puts a dent into the center of the handlebar, allowing it to wrap around the fork’s steerer tube so that a shorter stem can be used. Typical bars max out with a 30mm stem, and larger diameter 35mm bars may need a bit longer. They say the benefit of a shorter stem is a more direct steering response and lively ride feel. Interested parties can tender an offer on Pacenti’s website on or before Wednesday, November 30, 2022.
