Paper on a hob was blamed as the cause of a fire in a domestic first floor flat in Wellington.

Two fire appliances and an operations officer were scrambled from Wellington to Rose Manor, in Ketley Park Road, Ketley at 12.31pm on Wednesday. A spokesman for Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service said it was a fire involving paper on top of domestic hob within first floor flat.They used a ventilation system to clear the smoke before declaring the danger was over at 12.45pm.
