Liverpool mum Sarah Sandison spills the tea on parents' guilty pleasures now the children have returned to school ☕️👀

You've spent a small fortune on uniform and managed to usher them through the gates with everything they need and with as little fuss as possible. But what now? How will you enjoy your first, delicious, child free moments?

We should be taking naps or working on creative projects that make our hearts sing. But all too often, we're simply too caught up in the romance of being able to sit on the loo in peace, or eat a piece of cake without anyone asking for some. Doing the laundry without anyone crying or fighting in the next room is good, but having the TV to yourself while you're doing the ironing is next level! Taking a shower and actually having time to shave your legs AND use conditioner, feels like a spa weekend - a bona fide leisure activity! Especially when you're used to eating cheese and crackers for tea, while watching the kids in the bath.

Sometimes the real treat is going through their bedroom with a bin bag collecting broken crayons and pasta "art work" until you can actually see the floor. My friend Terrell says her favourite 'me time' activity is to get on the couch and eat all their snacks with no pants on. Pure hedonism!
