Neighbours have shared their annoyance over how broken glass and graffiti is taking away from a "lovely" Nottinghamshire park. Beeston Fields Recreation Ground off Central Avenue in Beeston is a sizable green space, which is popular with families, dog walkers and those playing sport.
The mess, as well as other trouble within the ground, was attributed to a group of young men who gather near the pavilion and small building near the Burrows Avenue entrance of the park. "There is always glass on the footpaths making it dangerous for young kids and dogs," a concerned resident, who did not want to be named, said. "Recently we have also seen homophobic graffiti on the walls. This really makes the regular walkers feel very insecure to visit the park.
"It is a shame because it is a lovely park that is well used. Most people who come here and use it are nice and friendly, so the people doing this are the exception." "I don't know who does it but is it obviously not a considerate way to treat a place used by a lot of people. Maybe if it gets worse they'll need some cameras here."
