A police officer who had sexual relationships with victims of abuse while on duty has been sentenced to four years in jail. Adam Hoyle, who admitted to the misconduct charges, had relationships with three women who had reported domestic or sexual abuse. The Independent Office for Police Conduct launched an investigation into the allegations, and Hoyle was found guilty of misconduct in public office. He resigned from the force prior to a misconduct hearing and has now been formally dismissed for gross misconduct.
A "deplorable" PC who had sex with a victim of abuse while he was meant to be searching for a missing person has been jailed.
Hoyle, who was based at Lower Lane police station in Liverpool, was found guilty of misconduct in public office in September, having previously admitted three further counts.The Independent Office for Police Conduct launched an investigation into allegations of inappropriate contact after a referral by Merseyside Police in November 2019.
