The 35-year-old passed away at the scene on the A726 Queensway shortly after 6.30pm, police confirmed this morning.
The tragedy unfolded on the eastbound carriageway of the road east of the roundabout junction with Murrayhill and Cornwall Street No one from the other cars were injured. The road was closed for around six hours as Police Scotland carried out an investigation - it has since reopened.Sergeant Gemma Blackadder, of the Road Policing Unit, in Motherwell said: "Our thoughts are with the man's family and friends at this difficult time.
