Pedestrian suffers serious injuries after being 'hit by car' near busy south Manchester road
A pedestrian has been left with 'serious' injuries after being hit by a car in a bustling Manchester suburb. Greater Manchester Police says a grey Seat Ibiza collided with both the pedestrian and a street sign at the junction of Barlow Moor Road and Churchwood Road, in Didsbury.
The pedestrian is still receiving treatment following the incident today , but their condition is not thought to be life-threatening. Police are now appealing for information from any witnesses who saw the incident at around 11.20pm on Wednesday, December 28. In a post shared on Facebook this morning, a spokesperson for GMP Chorlton and Didsbury said: "GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses to a serious road traffic collision which resulted in a pedestrian receiving serious injuries. At approximately 11.20pm, on Wednesday, December 28 2022, a grey Seat Ibiza was travelling northbound on Churchwood Road, Didsbury."The vehicle collided with the pedestrian and a street sign on the junction of Barlow Moor Road.
Witnesses are being asked to come forward while police continue their investigation. Anyone who saw the collision, or who has any relevant dashcam or CCTV footage, is urged to contact SCIU by calling 0161 856 4741.
