First crap Christmas tree of the season klaxon! 🚨🎄 This sad-looking tree has left locals feeling distinctly unfestive, with some branding it a 'laughing stock' while others are convinced the town just reused last year's.
It certainly didn’t give locals in a Merseyside town that festive feeling when it was unveiled by the council this week.Taking to social media to fume, one person said: ‘Yes that’s our Christmas tree. I saw it yesterday and my first thought was “have they recycled last year’s?”’
Meanwhile, someone else added: ‘Buy cheap, buy twice. We pay enough council tax to get a decent tree.’ But it’s not the first time the council has come under fire for not marking the Christmas season properly.In 2021, locals reportedly complained about the town’s ‘embarrassing’ town centre Christmas decorations.
