People urged to wear masks and stay at home - we ask how they feel about doing it all again
People are being urged to use face masks once again and to stay at home if they feel unwell as the NHS comes under mounting pressure in the midst of an influx of winter illnesses.
Professor Susan Hopkins, Chief Medical Adviser at UKHSA, has advised people feeling ill should stay indoors and avoid visiting vulnerable people unless it's urgent. She added that mask-wearing was advisable. "As far as staying at home if you feel unwell is concerned, I am happy to go along with it but it could cause financial difficulty."
Maureen Boyd, 71, is retired and lives in Salford. She says: "I did not wear a mask at first and I got Covid and I have done ever since then.
